Drift alternative searches spiked for a reason: the product is being wound down. Salesloft acquired Drift in February 2024, merged with Clari in December 2025, and in early March 2026 the combined company announced the gradual sunset of Drift's conversational marketing solution, naming 1mind as the successor it will refer existing Drift clients to. Today drift.com redirects to Salesloft's site, where the replacement is branded Salesloft Chat Agents and the page states plainly that it has transitioned from Drift to 1mind. No firm end-of-life date has been published, so if you are still running Drift you have time, but you do not have forever.

Credit where it is due. Drift genuinely defined B2B conversational marketing, and its firmographic routing, ABM playbooks, Fastlane speed-to-lead, and Salesforce depth were best in class. If you need exactly that enterprise ABM motion, 1mind is the vendor Salesloft points you to. MessageAgent solves a different shape of the same problem: one AI persona that answers, qualifies, books, and upsells across web chat, SMS, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook DM, and email, in a single inbox with a lightweight CRM, on a flat subscription with carrier and Meta fees passed through at cost. Drift never covered the messaging channels at all; it was web-first, with no native WhatsApp, SMS, Instagram DM, or Messenger.

Side by side

MessageAgent vs Drift

Drift is a sunsetting, web-only, enterprise B2B conversational marketing tool with sales-gated pricing. MessageAgent is an active, AI-native product that runs one brain across six channels including the messaging apps Drift never supported, at a flat published price.

Feature
MessageAgent
Drift
Product status in 2026
Actively developed and sold, with published pricing and no migration deadline hanging over you.
Gradual sunset announced in early March 2026 by Clari + Salesloft, which now refers Drift clients to 1mind as the successor.
Channels covered
Web chat, SMS, WhatsApp, Instagram DM, Facebook Messenger, and email, one AI brain with shared memory across all six.
Web-first: chat widget, conversational landing pages, email, and video, with no native WhatsApp, SMS, Instagram DM, or Messenger.
Pricing transparency
Flat, published subscription; carrier and Meta message fees passed through at cost with no markup.
Not public. Salesloft pricing is contact-sales only. Drift last published list pricing in 2024, starting at $2,500 per month billed annually.
Who it is built for
Sales and support teams that want inbound conversations answered, qualified, booked, and upsold on the channels customers actually message from.
Enterprise B2B marketing and revenue teams running ABM and demand gen, with Service the smallest of its use cases.
Speed to lead and booking
Qualifies budget, timeline, and intent in conversation, proposes real slots, books, and routes to the right person with the full thread.
Fastlane and Meetings were genuinely strong at instant qualify-and-book, with excellent firmographic routing into Salesforce.
Compliance built in (AI disclosure, TCPA, WhatsApp)
AI disclosed on every chat, TCPA opt-out and 10DLC handled, WhatsApp opt-in and templates managed by default.
Web-channel product, so SMS and WhatsApp consent rules were largely out of scope.

Common questions

Switching from Drift

Is Drift being discontinued?

Yes, gradually. In early March 2026 Clari + Salesloft announced the gradual sunset of Drift's conversational marketing solution and an exclusive agreement to refer existing Drift clients to 1mind as its successor. No public end-of-life date has been given, and existing tenants are still being served during the wind-down, so this is a planned migration rather than a switch being flipped.

What happened to Drift?

Salesloft acquired Drift in February 2024. Salesloft then merged with Clari, closing in December 2025. In March 2026 the combined company announced Drift's gradual sunset. In August 2025 compromised Drift OAuth tokens were used to access data in connected Salesforce tenants, affecting several hundred organizations; the Drift app was taken offline for remediation that September and Salesloft reported its own platform was segmented from the exfiltration.

What should I replace Drift with?

It depends on what you used it for. If you need enterprise ABM, firmographic routing, and deep Salesforce attribution, 1mind is the successor Salesloft itself points to. If what you actually valued was instant qualifying and booking of inbound conversations, MessageAgent does that across web chat plus the SMS, WhatsApp, and DM channels Drift never supported, at a flat published price.

How much did Drift cost?

Drift stopped publishing pricing, and Salesloft is contact-sales only today, so there is no current list price to quote. The last publicly published Drift pricing, from 2024, listed Premium starting at $2,500 per month billed annually, with Advanced and Enterprise quoted as custom. Treat that as historical context, not a live quote.

Did Drift support WhatsApp or SMS?

No. Drift was a web-first product built around a chat widget, conversational landing pages, email, and video, with meeting booking and handoff to Zoom or a call. It had no native WhatsApp, SMS, Instagram DM, or Facebook Messenger channel, which is the main gap teams notice when they move to a messaging-led tool.
