These two platforms are priced as mirror images of each other. Thryv caps your seats and bundles everything else: Signature is $399 a month for five users, with no per-message, per-conversation or per-AI-action meter anywhere on its pricing page. GoHighLevel does the opposite. Every plan includes unlimited users and unlimited contacts, but seven of its fourteen published add-ons bill per sub-account, so the moment you serve a second client the "unlimited" plan starts multiplying. At one business the two land within about $50 of each other. At two or more client accounts they stop being comparable at all.
Last updated September 2026. Both sets of figures were read first-hand on 1 September 2026, from thryv.com/pricing and gohighlevel.com/pricing, served to a United States visitor in US Dollars. Prices move. Re-check before you sign anything.
Which one publishes its pricing?
Both of them, which is rarer in this corner of the market than you would expect. Podium published Core at $399 and Pro at $599 as recently as August 23, 2026, then removed both figures by September 2, 2026 and now publishes nothing. Birdeye publishes no figure at all either and routes you to a banded lead form. Weave will say only that it starts from $199 a month. Against that backdrop, Thryv and GoHighLevel both printing a self-serve price and a free trial button is a genuine point in their favor, and it is the main reason these two are worth comparing directly.
The catch is that each of them holds something back, and they hold back different things. Thryv publishes its plan prices and hides the cost of its growth services. GoHighLevel publishes its plan prices and fourteen add-on rates, then notes in its own FAQ that there are further usage-based costs for telecommunications and AI services. Neither page is a complete quote.
What does Thryv cost per month?
Thryv publishes three plans. Starter is $99 a month and includes one user. Signature, which Thryv marks as recommended, is $399 a month and includes five users. Amplify is custom, with a Talk to Sales button and a Custom Boosts Suite.
There is one figure on the Signature card worth slowing down for. It reads $399 per month and, immediately below, billed $4,068 annually. Those are two different billing modes printed as if they were one number. Multiply $399 by twelve and you get $4,788, which is $720 more than Thryv's own annual total. Divide $4,068 by twelve and you get $339 a month, almost exactly 15 percent below $399, matching the Save 15 percent badge on the billing toggle. Budget from $4,068. We walk through the rest of the tiers, the Boosts and the entitlements that expire in our full breakdown of Thryv pricing.
What Thryv does not do is meter you. There is no per-message, per-conversation, per-resolution or per-lead rate anywhere on the page. The only numeric AI allowance published is 25 included ImageAI generations on Signature. In a category where Podium bills across eight separate lines and Kustomer across nine, that flatness is a real feature.
What does GoHighLevel cost per month?
Three plans as well. Starter is $97 a month or $970 a year and includes three sub-accounts. Unlimited, marked most popular, is $297 a month or $2,970 a year with unlimited sub-accounts. Agency Pro is $497 a month or $4,970 a year and adds SaaS Mode, which lets you resell the platform as your own product. All three include unlimited contacts and unlimited users.
The annual pricing is cleaner than Thryv's. Every GoHighLevel plan charges exactly ten months for twelve, so the annual discount is 16.7 percent on all three tiers, slightly better than Thryv's 15 percent and much easier to check.
On seats alone, this is not close. Thryv Signature gives you five users for $399, which is $79.80 per user a month. GoHighLevel Starter gives you unlimited users for $97. If your only question is how many people can log in, GoHighLevel wins by an order of magnitude.
Where does GoHighLevel actually charge you?
In the add-ons, and this is the part most comparisons skip. GoHighLevel publishes fourteen optional add-on rates on the same page as its plans. Here they are as printed.
| Add-on | Published price | Scales with |
|---|---|---|
| AI Employee Growth Plan | $50 per month | Per sub-account |
| AI Employee Unlimited Plan | $97 per month | Per sub-account |
| Branded Client Portal App | $49 per month | Per sub-account |
| Online listings management | $30 per month | Per sub-account |
| Premium prospecting tool | $29 per month | Per sub-account |
| SEO (powered by Search Atlas) | $79 per month | Per sub-account |
| WhatsApp integration | $10 per month | Per sub-account |
| Dedicated email IPs | $59 per month | Per IP |
| WordPress hosting | Starts at $10 per month | Per site |
| HighLevel Certification Program | $97 per month | Flat |
| HIPAA compliance | $297 per month | Flat |
| Premium support | $500 per month | Flat |
| White label mobile app | $497 per month | Flat |
| Domain purchasing | No figure published | Per domain |
Count them: one plan plus fourteen published add-ons, plus the telecommunications and AI usage GoHighLevel mentions but does not price. That is at least fifteen billable lines. It is the highest count we have recorded against any vendor, ahead of Kustomer's nine and Podium's eight, and we track these carefully in our census of how AI customer service tools actually meter you.
Now look at the third column. Seven of the fourteen are billed per sub-account. That is the tension at the heart of GoHighLevel's pricing: the plan sells you unlimited sub-accounts, and then most of the useful add-ons charge you for each one. Unlimited applies to seats and contacts. It does not apply to capabilities.
Is GoHighLevel cheaper than Thryv?
For one business with no add-ons, yes, and comfortably. GoHighLevel Starter at $97 undercuts Thryv Signature at $399 by $302 a month while giving you more seats. But that comparison is not fair to either product, because Starter GoHighLevel with nothing switched on does not do what Thryv Signature does out of the box.
The honest comparison adds AI. Here is GoHighLevel Unlimited at $297 with the AI Employee add-on, against Thryv Signature at both its monthly and its annual rate.
| Client accounts | GoHighLevel Unlimited plus AI Employee Unlimited | GoHighLevel Unlimited plus AI Employee Growth | Thryv Signature monthly | Thryv Signature annual |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | $394 | $347 | $399 | $339 |
| 2 | $491 | $397 | Cannot serve a second business | Cannot serve a second business |
| 3 | $588 | $447 | Cannot serve a second business | Cannot serve a second business |
| 5 | $782 | $547 | Cannot serve a second business | Cannot serve a second business |
| 10 | $1,267 | $797 | Cannot serve a second business | Cannot serve a second business |
At exactly one client account, GoHighLevel Unlimited with the top AI add-on costs $394 against Thryv Signature's $399. Five dollars apart. And if you take Thryv annually, at $339 a month effective, Thryv is already cheaper than GoHighLevel plus either AI Employee plan at a single account. That is the sharpest way to put it: on annual billing, Thryv Signature undercuts an AI-equipped GoHighLevel from the very first client.
Add a second client and the arithmetic stops mattering, because Thryv cannot follow you there. Thryv sells a subscription for a business, not a console for managing other people's businesses. This is the real dividing line, and it is not price.
Which should a single local business choose?
Thryv, most of the time. If you run one dental practice, one HVAC company or one law office, you want listings across 60 or more directories, review management, a website, social scheduling, a CRM and invoicing to arrive working, on one invoice, without you assembling them. Thryv says 100,000 businesses use it and shows a 4.8 star average rating, and it publishes integrations with Jobber, HubSpot and Housecall Pro. The $399 buys done-for-you.
The reasons to go the other way are specific: you want unlimited seats for a large team, you are comfortable building your own automations and funnels, or you expect to add locations. GoHighLevel is a construction kit, and construction kits reward people who enjoy building.
Which should a marketing agency choose?
GoHighLevel, without much argument. Thryv has no sub-account model, so an agency running ten clients would need ten Thryv subscriptions. Ten Signature plans is $3,990 a month. Ten GoHighLevel sub-accounts on the Unlimited plan with the top AI add-on is $1,267, and Agency Pro at $497 adds SaaS Mode so you can resell the platform under your own brand with your own margin.
What agencies should budget for honestly is the per-sub-account creep. Take ten clients and switch on AI Employee Unlimited at $97, the branded portal at $49, listings at $30 and Search Atlas SEO at $79. That is $255 per client per month, $2,550 across ten, on top of the $297 plan. The platform fee was never the number that mattered. The same discipline applies to the content side of client work, where an agency serving ten accounts needs a way to research keywords and publish SEO articles for each client on a schedule rather than writing everything by hand.
What neither of them charges for
Here is the thing both platforms get right, and it is worth saying because most of this category gets it wrong. Neither Thryv nor GoHighLevel bills you per resolved conversation. Zendesk charges $1.50 for an automated resolution. Freshdesk charges $0.49 per session whether the AI solved anything or not. Kustomer charges $0.60 per engaged conversation. Under all three, getting better at deflection raises your invoice.
Thryv and GoHighLevel both price the AI as a subscription instead: bundled into the plan at Thryv, a flat $50 or $97 per sub-account at GoHighLevel. Improve your knowledge base under either model and your cost per handled conversation falls. That is the right shape, and it is the shape MessageAgent is built around too, at a planned $79, $199 or $499 flat a month with carrier and Meta fees passed through at cost. MessageAgent is a conversation layer rather than a marketing suite, so it sits alongside these tools rather than replacing them, and it covers business texting, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and web chat in one place. It is pre-launch and not yet purchasable; you can join the waitlist today.
The one question that decides it
Count your client accounts. At one, the two platforms are within about $50 a month of each other and the choice is genuinely about temperament: buy a suite that arrives working, or build exactly what you want. At two or more, Thryv is not a candidate, because it has no sub-account model, and GoHighLevel is the only one of the two that can do the job at all. Price is what people compare. Sub-accounts are what actually decides it.
If you are weighing these against the reputation and messaging specialists rather than against each other, we compared the three closest rivals in Podium vs Birdeye vs Weave, and the missed-call side of the problem is covered in missed call text back software.
