Freshdesk charges for seats and for AI separately. On annual billing the three published plans are $19 per agent per month on Growth, $55 on Pro and $89 on Enterprise, and Freshworks labels the annual toggle Save 20 percent. Freddy AI Agent is metered by session at $49 per 100 sessions, which works out to $0.49 a session, and that rate is identical on all three plans.
The number most buyers get wrong sits in the FAQ rather than on the plan cards. Every plan card reads Freddy AI Agent, first 500 sessions included, which looks like a monthly allowance. Freshworks' own FAQ says something narrower: we offer 500 free sessions on the Growth, Pro and Enterprise plans to try out Freddy AI Agent, this is limited to once per account. Read together, those two statements mean Freshdesk's recurring included AI allowance is zero. You get 500 sessions once, ever, and from session 501 onward every session is billed. That is a different shape from Zendesk, which includes 5 automated resolutions per agent every month, and from Gorgias, which includes 30 to 530 AI interactions a month depending on plan.
The second thing to get right is what you are buying. A Freddy session is not a resolution. Freshworks defines a session as a unique interaction between an end user and an AI Agent, and for email it is a 72-hour window from the customer's first message, with every AI reply inside that window counted as one session. Nothing in that definition requires the AI to have solved anything. Zendesk, by contrast, bills only requests successfully resolved by the AI without escalation to a human. So $0.49 per session and $1.50 per resolution are not the same unit, and comparing them directly will mislead you in whichever direction your deflection rate happens to run.
Side by side
Freshdesk plan prices, Freddy AI rates and every add-on meter
Read first-hand from the Freshdesk pricing page on 30 August 2026, in US Dollars. These are Freshworks' own published figures. Per-agent prices are the annual-billing rate; Freshworks shows a monthly rate behind a toggle and labels the annual option Save 20 percent. Freshworks states that offline payments follow USD pricing.
| Plan | Per agent per month (annual) | Freddy AI Agent sessions included | Extra AI sessions | Freddy AI Copilot | Day pass | Connector app tasks |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Growth | $19 | 500 once per account | $49 per 100 | Not offered on Growth | $2 | $80 per 5,000 |
| Pro (Freshworks marks it most popular) | $55 | 500 once per account | $49 per 100 | $29 per agent per month | $7 | $80 per 5,000 |
| Enterprise | $89 | 500 once per account | $49 per 100 | $29 per agent per month | $12 | $80 per 5,000 |
| MessageAgent (planned, not yet on sale) | $79, $199 or $499 flat per month, not per agent | Unmetered | No session meter | Included | No day passes, no per-seat charge | Included |
The 500 included Freddy AI Agent sessions are a one-time-per-account trial allowance, not a monthly one, so the recurring included allowance on every Freshdesk plan is zero. Paying for a higher plan does not lower the AI session rate: it is $49 per 100 on Growth, Pro and Enterprise alike. Purchased session packs expire on your payment cycle, so quarterly billing means quarterly expiry. Freddy AI Copilot is not sold on Growth. Day passes are the one line that gets more expensive as you pay more, running $2, $7 and $12 as you climb the tiers.
What you get
Everything one AI agent handles
The included 500 sessions are once per account, not once a month
The plan cards say first 500 sessions included on all three tiers. The FAQ narrows it: 500 free sessions to try out Freddy AI Agent, limited to once per account. A team doing 1,500 AI conversations a month burns the entire lifetime allowance in the first ten days and pays $0.49 a session from then on, forever. Budget as though the recurring allowance is zero, because it is.
A session is billed whether or not the AI solved anything
Freshworks defines a session as a unique interaction between an end user and an AI Agent. On email it is a 72-hour window from the first message, and every AI reply inside it counts once. There is no success condition. If the AI reads the question, fails, and hands to a person, that is still a billed session. Zendesk only bills resolutions it completed without escalation.
The break-even deflection rate is about 33 percent
Divide $0.49 a session by $1.50 a committed Zendesk resolution and you get 32.7 percent. Below that deflection rate, paying per resolution is cheaper on the AI line, because you only pay when the AI wins. Above it, paying per session is cheaper. At 25 percent deflection Freshdesk costs $1.96 per problem actually solved; at 50 percent it costs $0.98. Model your own rate before you compare headline numbers.
Upgrading your plan never lowers the AI rate
Growth at $19, Pro at $55 and Enterprise at $89 all meter Freddy AI Agent at the same $49 per 100 sessions. The tier buys routing, dashboards, sandbox and audit logs. It does not buy a better AI rate and it does not buy a recurring AI allowance. The usual enterprise escape route of committing to a bigger plan for a better unit price is not available here.
Five separate meters land on one invoice
Agent seats, Freddy AI Agent sessions, Freddy AI Copilot seats at $29, day passes at $2 to $12, and connector app tasks at $80 per 5,000 are five independent lines that move on their own. Copilot alone adds $290 a month across ten agents and $1,450 across fifty. We bill one subscription and pass carrier and Meta message fees through at cost.
Purchased sessions expire with your payment cycle
Freshworks states that the validity of a session pack corresponds to your payment cycle, so buying quarterly means unused sessions die quarterly. Support volume is seasonal in most businesses, which makes buying ahead of a known peak a bet you can lose. There is nothing to expire on a flat subscription.
Where Freshdesk genuinely wins
Growth at $19 per agent is one of the lowest real entry prices for mature ticketing anywhere in this category, and Freshworks says 74,000 businesses use it. If your team mostly routes and resolves tickets with humans, wants multilingual support, SLA policies and skill-based routing, and treats AI deflection as secondary, Freshdesk is honest value and we will say so.
One flat meter instead of five
MessageAgent is a planned flat subscription at $79, $199 or $499 a month with carrier and Meta fees at cost. Better deflection lowers your cost per contact rather than raising your invoice, which is the opposite of what happens under any per-session or per-resolution meter. Common questions
Freshdesk pricing questions
How much does Freshdesk cost?
On annual billing Freshdesk costs $19 per agent per month on Growth, $55 on Pro and $89 on Enterprise. Freshworks labels the annual toggle Save 20 percent against monthly billing. AI is separate: Freddy AI Agent sessions are $49 per 100, and Freddy AI Copilot is $29 per agent per month on Pro and Enterprise only.
How much does Freshdesk cost per agent per month?
Growth is $19 per agent per month, Pro is $55 and Enterprise is $89, all on annual billing. Freshworks marks Pro as most popular. Ten agents on Pro is $550 a month in seats alone, twenty-five is $1,375 and fifty is $2,750, before any Freddy AI session charges, Copilot seats, day passes or connector tasks are added.
What is a session in Freddy AI Agent?
Freshworks defines a session as a unique interaction between an end user and an AI Agent. For an Email AI Agent it is a 72-hour window starting from the customer's first email, and all AI responses inside that window count as a single session no matter how many replies are exchanged. Nothing in the definition requires the AI to have resolved the issue.
How much does Freddy AI cost?
Freddy AI Agent costs $49 per 100 sessions, which is $0.49 a session, and the rate is the same on Growth, Pro and Enterprise. Freddy AI Copilot is a separate $29 per agent per month and is not sold on the Growth plan. Freddy AI Insights is included on Enterprise rather than priced separately.
Does Freshdesk include free Freddy AI sessions?
Yes, but only once. Freshworks offers 500 free Freddy AI Agent sessions on Growth, Pro and Enterprise to try the feature, and its FAQ states this is limited to once per account. It is a one-time trial allowance, not a monthly one, so from session 501 onward every session is billed at $0.49 with no recurring included volume.
How many Freddy AI sessions do I get each month?
None are included on a recurring basis. The 500-session allowance is granted once per account, so after it is used the monthly included figure is zero on every plan. This differs from Zendesk, which includes 5 automated resolutions per agent per month, and from Gorgias, which includes between 30 and 530 AI interactions a month depending on the plan.
Is Freshdesk cheaper than Zendesk?
On seats they are close: $55 per agent on Freshdesk Pro against $55 on Zendesk Suite Team, both annual. On AI it depends entirely on your deflection rate. Freshdesk bills every session at $0.49 whether or not it worked; Zendesk bills $1.50 only for resolutions it completed. Below roughly 33 percent deflection Zendesk is cheaper per problem solved, above it Freshdesk is.
What does Freshdesk cost for 10 agents with AI?
Ten agents on Pro annual is $550 a month in seats. Handling 1,500 AI conversations a month adds fifteen session packs at $49, which is $735, taking the monthly total to $1,285 and the annual commitment to $15,420. Adding Freddy AI Copilot for all ten agents adds a further $290 a month, or $3,480 a year.
What does Freshdesk cost for 25 and 50 agents?
On Pro annual, twenty-five agents is $1,375 a month in seats and fifty is $2,750. At 1,500 AI sessions a month the AI line stays flat at $735 in both cases, because sessions are billed by volume rather than headcount. Totals are $2,110 and $3,485 a month, which is $25,320 and $41,820 a year.
Does a higher Freshdesk plan lower the AI price?
No. Freddy AI Agent sessions cost $49 per 100 on Growth, Pro and Enterprise without exception. Moving up buys multilingual support, custom dashboards, intelligent routing, SLA policies, skill-based routing, sandbox and audit logs. It does not buy a cheaper AI rate and it does not add a recurring session allowance.
What is the cheapest Freshdesk plan?
Growth at $19 per agent per month on annual billing. It includes ticketing and a shared inbox, a customer portal and knowledge base, out-of-the-box analytics, threads and tasks, and roles and permissions. Note that Freddy AI Copilot cannot be added to Growth at all, so a Growth team gets the AI Agent session meter but no agent-side AI assistance.
What are Freshdesk day passes and connector app tasks?
A day pass gives an occasional agent access for one day instead of a full licence, priced at $2 on Growth, $7 on Pro and $12 on Enterprise. Connector app tasks are consumed when Freshdesk's pre-built integrations sync data or run workflow automation, and cost $80 per 5,000 tasks on all three plans. Day passes are not available for Freddy AI Copilot.
Do unused Freddy AI sessions roll over?
No. Freshworks states that the validity of a purchased session pack corresponds to your payment cycle, so if you pay quarterly your sessions expire quarterly. You can buy any number of packs, but buying ahead of a seasonal peak carries real expiry risk if the volume arrives later than you forecast.
Does Freshdesk have a free trial?
Yes. Signing up gives you fourteen days of access to the Enterprise plan, and Freshworks alerts you before it expires. After that you pick a plan and pay by card, or the account is suspended. Freshworks accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express, and states explicitly that it does not accept PayPal.
Can I cancel or downgrade Freshdesk?
There are no cancellation fees. Freshworks describes Freshdesk as pay-as-you-go and lets you upgrade instantly, but a downgrade or cancellation only takes effect at the end of your current term rather than immediately. Subscription changes are made under Billing inside the Freshdesk account.
