Mindbody vs WellnessLiving pricing turns on one question: how many people on your team need a login. Mindbody charges $79 a month per location with unlimited staff, and prints no other plan price. WellnessLiving prints every plan except Enterprise: $69 a month for one staff member, $199 for unlimited staff, $349 for a white label app. A solo instructor pays $10 less on WellnessLiving. A studio with a team pays $120 a month less on Mindbody Starter, until it needs text marketing or AI, which Mindbody only quotes on a call.
Mindbody figures were read on mindbodyonline.com/business/pricing and Mindbody's article on US pricing on 20 October 2026. WellnessLiving figures come from wellnessliving.com/pricing, read the same day. All prices are in US dollars per location per month unless noted. The arithmetic below is ours, and every input is printed on the two vendors' own pages.
Mindbody vs WellnessLiving pricing side by side
Both platforms sell to the same buyer, the independent yoga, Pilates, barre or boutique fitness studio, and both run booking, memberships, payments and a client app. They publish prices in opposite ways. WellnessLiving shows a full rate card with a monthly and an annual column. Mindbody shows Let's talk on all three plan cards and prints one number, $79 a month per location, above the cards and in its FAQ.
| Line | Mindbody (20 Oct 2026) | WellnessLiving (20 Oct 2026) |
|---|---|---|

| Staff on the entry plan | Unlimited users | One staff member |

| Top plan | Ultimate, not published | BusinessPro, $349 a month or $314 annually; $69 or $62 for the first two months |
| Enterprise | Quote (multi-location tools) | Call us (HQ account, multi-location reporting) |

The full line-by-line read of Mindbody's rate card, including what Starter, Accelerate and Ultimate each unlock, is on our Mindbody pricing per location page. The short version: $79 buys a lot of software, but it buys no text reminders, no marketing and no AI.
Is WellnessLiving cheaper than Mindbody?
Only for a one-person business, and only by $10 to $17 a month. WellnessLiving Starter costs $69, or $62 billed annually, against $79 for Mindbody Starter. The moment a second instructor or a front desk person needs a login, WellnessLiving moves you to Business at $199, and Mindbody Starter becomes $120 a month cheaper.
Here is the same studio in five situations, priced from the two rate cards. Where a vendor does not publish the plan you would need, we say so rather than guess.
| Studio situation | Mindbody | WellnessLiving | Cheaper on what is published |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo instructor, email reminders are fine | Starter $79 | Starter $69 ($62 annual) | WellnessLiving by $10 to $17 |
| Solo instructor who wants text reminders | Accelerate, quote only | Starter $69 | WellnessLiving, the only published option |
| Four instructors, no marketing tools | Starter $79 | Business $199 ($179 annual) | Mindbody by $100 to $120 |
| Four instructors, email and text campaigns, lead pipeline | Ultimate, quote only | Business $199 ($179 annual) | Mindbody only if Ultimate is quoted under $199 |
| Three locations on the entry plan | Starter, 3 x $79 = $237 | Multi-location reporting is Enterprise, call us | Mindbody, the only published option |
The fourth row is where most growing studios end up, and it is the one neither table can settle. WellnessLiving prints $199 for unlimited staff with email and text marketing and lead management. Mindbody puts the same capabilities on Ultimate and prints no price. If the Ultimate quote comes in under $199 a month, or under $179 against WellnessLiving's annual price, Mindbody wins that row. If not, WellnessLiving does. Ask for the number in writing before you compare anything else.
How much does the first year cost on each?
On the plans with published prices, a team studio pays $948 for a year of Mindbody Starter and $1,860 to $2,068 for a year of WellnessLiving Business. The WellnessLiving range comes from its two-month promotion: the first two months of Business cost $39 each on monthly billing, then $199, which is $78 plus $1,990, or $2,068. On annual billing the first two months are $35 and the rest $179, so $70 plus $1,790, or $1,860.
That promotion is worth $320 in year one on monthly Business and $560 on monthly BusinessPro. It is a two-month discount, so it does not change the price you pay from month three, and that is the number to budget.
Neither total includes processing, which is usually the larger bill. Mindbody quotes its rate during the demo and adds a fixed $0.10 to $0.30 per transaction. WellnessLiving's pricing page says its processing saves over 20% but prints no rate. Its own comparison calculator quotes Mindbody processing starting at 2.59%, but the footnote says it reflects Mindbody prices as of September 2024, so treat that as a competitor's old figure, not a current rate. Get both quotes as percentages for card-present, card-not-present and ACH.
Whichever you choose, the payouts land in your bank account net of fees, often several days after the sale. If you keep your own books, bank reconciliation software that matches each processor deposit to the bank statement saves the end-of-month hunt for a missing $40.
What does the Mindbody app fee add?
Mindbody charges 20% of a new client's first purchase, capped at $30, when the Mindbody app delivered that client. Existing clients, tracked referral links and every later booking carry no fee. The cap applies from a $150 first purchase. A studio that gets 10 new clients a month from the app, each buying a $59 intro offer, pays $118 in fees; if they buy a $180 membership instead, it pays $300, nearly four times the Starter plan.
That is not a reason to avoid Mindbody. The fee buys clients you would not otherwise have, and Mindbody says 3M+ people browse its app each month. WellnessLiving's pricing page lists its Explorer directory without a fee, but Mindbody's marketplace is the larger draw in most US cities. Budget for it the way you would budget for ads.
Mindbody AI Concierge vs WellnessLiving CAASI pricing
Neither vendor publishes what its AI costs. Mindbody's AI Concierge answers client questions, responds to missed calls and books, and the pricing grid marks it not available on Starter, an add-on on Accelerate and included on Ultimate, two plans with no printed price. WellnessLiving's CAASI AI Front Desk greets callers and visitors, answers questions and captures contact details, and is listed as an add-on with no price.
So a studio owner who wants an AI to answer leads cannot price it on either platform without a sales call. We broke down the Mindbody route in Mindbody AI Concierge pricing.
There is a third route that works with either platform. MessageAgent answers Instagram and Facebook DMs, texts, WhatsApp and web chat within seconds, qualifies the lead, books the intro class and hands the thread to your team with the full history. It costs a flat $199 a month on Growth, published on our pricing page, and runs next to Mindbody Starter or WellnessLiving Starter, so you keep the cheaper management plan and add the AI separately. Mindbody Starter plus MessageAgent is $278 a month, every line of it published. One honest limit: MessageAgent works in messaging channels and does not answer voice calls. For missed calls it sends an instant missed call text back and continues the conversation by text.
Which one fits which studio?
WellnessLiving fits a solo instructor who wants text reminders at a published price, and a studio that wants marketing, lead management and rewards on a price it can see before the demo. Its rate card is the more complete of the two, and onboarding and data migration are free.
Mindbody fits a studio with a team that wants new clients from the largest consumer marketplace in the category, a done-for-you website on the entry plan, and unlimited staff for $79. It is also the simpler choice for two or three locations, where its per-location price is the only published one.
If you are comparing beyond these two, our other first-hand checks may save a demo: PushPress vs Mindbody pricing for gyms that bill by membership, and Wodify pricing per location for CrossFit and functional fitness boxes. For the lead side of a studio, our AI for gyms and fitness studios page shows how the booking conversation runs.
Mindbody vs WellnessLiving pricing questions
Is Mindbody more expensive than WellnessLiving?
For one staff member, yes, by $10 a month: $79 against $69. For two or more staff, no. Mindbody Starter at $79 includes unlimited users, while WellnessLiving charges $199 for its Business plan once you add staff. Mindbody gets more expensive only when you need Accelerate or Ultimate, which it quotes on a call.
Does WellnessLiving charge per staff member?
Not per head, but by plan. Starter at $69 a month covers exactly one staff member. Business at $199 adds unlimited staff, and BusinessPro at $349 adds a white label client app. Mindbody never charges for staff and prices only by location, so the two models diverge as soon as you hire.
Which has lower processing fees, Mindbody or WellnessLiving?
Neither publishes a current rate. Mindbody sets its rate during the demo and adds $0.10 to $0.30 per transaction. WellnessLiving says its processing saves over 20% and prints no percentage. Ask both for card-present, card-not-present and ACH rates in writing, because on a studio with real revenue processing outweighs the plan fee.
Can I switch from Mindbody to WellnessLiving for free?
WellnessLiving advertises free setup and data migration, plus free training and onboarding, on every plan. Your processor may charge a small fee to export stored client card data. Mindbody also charges no onboarding fee when you move to it, though premium implementation and custom data conversion are priced separately.
Do Mindbody and WellnessLiving answer Instagram DMs with AI?
Both sell an AI front desk, Mindbody AI Concierge and WellnessLiving CAASI, and neither publishes its price or lists Instagram DMs on the pricing page. If most of your trial bookings start in a DM or a text, an AI messaging agent that sits next to either platform is the option you can price today.
